The Land of the Bong Tree Children delight in nonsense, and there are few poets and writers who can write more beautifully nonsensically than Edward Lear. This nonsense-filled, funny, rollicking production draws on the works of Edward Lear, from the art of the Limerick to his famous poems “The Owl and the Pussycat” , “The Jumblies”, “The Dong With the Luminous Nose” and the fabulously colourful “Quangle Wangle’s Hat”. Essential skills which children develop in this production are ensemble work, narration, character play, choral verse, recitation and movement. “The Land of the Bong Tree” is an unapologetic celebration of words and rhyme and imagination and comes together in this stage production which has been especially developed for children.
